Meet Maria

Hi! I'm Maria. I'm seven years old and I love to dance. I do dance classes two times a week. I just had my first dance recital. My friends and family all came to watch me dance. There were a lot of people watching but I wasn't afraid, I like being on the stage. I want to be a singer one day. This is how I practice my singing: la la la la la la la la la... Do you like my voice? My mum says I got my voice from my grandma.

I love my grandma. Sometimes, when I'm at her house, she makes me a yummy tortillas too; just for me. She even likes me pick vegetables from her garden to put in the soup. I eat a bit of any vegetable I want. I like to pick carrots because it rhymes with parrots. Sometimes I get lucky and find a cucumber in the garden. I love cucumbers.

Oh, I went to the zoo once. I like to see all the animals, especially the flamingos and the giraffes. I think giraffes are cute. They're my favourite animal. That's why I have a giraffe on my shirt.

I love to go camping with my family. This year we camped at a national park. It was a lot of fun. I found lots and lots of weird bugs under the rocks. And I got to swim in a stream. Then I went fishing and I caught this tiny little fish, but I put it back because it was too small. But my favourite part was when I stayed in the middle of all the trees and just listened. I could hear all the birds chirping and the wind blowing through the leaves. And I think I even heard a waterfall. Aaah,  It was such an amazing sound. When I got home, I painted pictures of my favourite parts of the park and I showed them to my friends. They liked them so much that we all painted pictures together. See you later.
